Rosemont, Ill.-based Opus North Corporation announced that it has signed long-term leases with two tenants at Burr Ridge Village Center, a 20-acre lifestyle center in southwest-suburban Burr Ridge, Ill. The new tenants are Soft Surroundings, a St. Louis-based retailer of women’s apparel, accessories, beauty and bedding, and Salon Efthimia, a locally-owned Aveda lifestyle salon.
“We’re thrilled to expand our retail offerings here at Burr Ridge Village Center, further strengthening our position as the western suburbs’ premier lifestyle destination,” said Scott Rolston, senior property manager for Burr Ridge Village Center.
Soft Surroundings, which opened in late November, has leased a 5,400-square-foot store, located across from Topaz Café and Kohler Waters Spa.
“Our collections are for busy women of all ages who need to take a moment for themselves. Burr Ridge Village Center is the perfect location to expand our brand, because it offers a high-end client base thanks to the onsite condominiums and the surrounding area,” said Danny Boddy, retail general manager of Soft Surroundings.
Also new to Burr Ridge Village Center is Salon Efthimia, an Aveda lifestyle salon offering hair design, cut, color and hair-spa services. It will open in April 2009, and carry the entire spectrum of Aveda retail products. It is the second location for Salon Efthimia, which also has a location in Elmhurst, Ill.’s City Centre.
According to its owner Effie Quaranta, Salon Efthimia shares the mission of the Aveda brand. “The simple Aveda mission is ‘Beauty is as beauty does.’ To accomplish this, high-performance products are produced using eco-friendly practices and design. This mission, along with our attention to customer service has allowed us to grow our client base considerably and open a second store,” she said.
“We are here to make the residents of Burr Ridge feel beautiful, relaxed and well," added Cynthia Alex, co-owner of the Burr Ridge Salon Efthimia and Aveda Certified Hair Color Trainer.
Also at Burr Ridge Village Center, Opus North announced the opening of Murray’s Irish Outfitters. The retailer will operate a temporary store at Burr Ridge Village Center to serve holiday shoppers. The retailer specializes in Irish gifts including clothing, books, crystal and more.
